Tis the season for a new featured paper pack

Featured Paper Blog Hop-’Tis the Season
Welcome to our Featured Paper Blog Hop! We will be showcasing items from our ‘Tis the Season Paper Pack with various projects created by talented Close to my Heart Consultants. If you are visiting from Kathleen Androlewicz blog then you are on the right track, if not please start at the beginning with our hostess Carol Loftus.

The Last week here at Ramona’s Art Buffet has been a whirlwind of activities!

You probably heard about California Fires what a sad state of affairs. We are about 120 miles away but the smoke has been horrible area schools up and down our valley are closed.
I feel terrible for the people up in that area casualties and lost homes. Feeling a little guilty hanging out in my crafty space.
But, here I am in the midst of activity I will be at a local craft fair showcasing Close to My heart’s wonderful products.
I have one day to go and my mind is racing what do first!

First, we create! ‘Tis the season’

I have fallen in love with this season’s traditional colors paper pack ‘Tis the Season.
Close to my Heart has many seasonal offerings and specials. I decided to make use this special and raffle it off in my booth at our local craft fair.

And here is the finished box ready for the Fair!

I love how this turned out!

Easy Yes, was it quick? Not going to lie It took a while but as a fun family project, it would be tons of fun! Grateful Heart Featured Paper

Hello, Fellow Stampers Scrapbookers and Crafters,

You are going to love our latest blog hop! This is, in my opinion, the prettiest paper pack/collection of the Close to my Heart September-December 2018 Idea book.

I  love the rich colors fitting right into the fall theme.  Pomegranate, Sapphire, Glacier, New England Ivy, Fern, Saffron, Goldrush, Espresso, Mink, White Daisy amazing color combinations.

If you are following along from Erica Haskin You are in the right spot but,  you can also circle back around to Carol’s blog to make sure you don’t miss a thing!

I took a photo so you could see my creative process first I get all the papers inks and stamps out I cut things up and start creating projects. I just love to use my Cricut Close to my Heart collections. Today I used the Flower Market cartridge.

This digital collection:

Flower Market has all kinds of really fun flower cuts that can really add dimension and interest to your projects. See the pile of flowers? Yes, those really do stack up and make the cute saffron and gold rush flowers on the card shown here:

Using the floral paper:

Using the floral paper with the sapphire plaid back I made the little gift bag. This is a simple brown lunch bag folding down and reinforcing the edges adding ribbon and grateful paper to the front and back. Oh my, this saved me a trip to the store.

Next, I made another notebook/shopping list  like last months blog you can find here

Make from your heart:

When I made this card. I used Make it from your Heart volume 4 page 26-27 Pattern 11. I love having artwork tips and dimensions so I can quickly stamp up cards and scrapbook pages It helps with the stampers block or when you are really crunched for time but you want to make something special. I used out featured paper Grateful Heart and the coordinating stamp set found here

Today I am tech challenged or the blog God is not kind. I am un-able to load these photos so please check out the link.

I need to make several more as I retired from my traditional job and my former co-workers gave me some awesome gifts and gift cards.  I better get busy!

Hop on over to Carol Loftus see what wonderful artwork my fellow CTMH friends have created for you!

In this pack, we have Featured colors: Sugarplum, Peach, Ballerina, Saffron, Peacock, Glacier, Charcoal, Linen, White Daisy. Do you see some new colors? Yes, Close to my Heart has updated our color pallet with some really pretty colors! I am very happy with the soft colors of this Boutique paper pack.

My Creation is a notebook or to do list.

This idea was gleaned from a Close to my Heart convention many years ago. I wish I could remember who to give credit to.
Terri Howard my Sister consultant showed how to personalize the pen at one of our unit meetings.
In our household, we use these as the grocery lists. I add magnets to the back so it might stick to the fridge.
You can see from the photo I also created a very cute pen/pencil clip to keep that pen handy I also added the Boutique papers to the pen for an extra touch. I found directions from a Pinterest. I will send a link in another post and show the pen how to at that time.
To do list

For this project I used: a 5×8 notepad from Staples I ask the copy center to slice down the middle these are sold in packs of 12 so I end up with 24 pads

These are the colors I used in the Boutique paper pack.

product imageThis pretty floral from the  Boutique packet.
I have created a file for you in design space if you use the Cricut explore or the Maker. see here:  https://design.cricut.com/#/design/108309457
If not I cut the Charcoal cardstock 3×9.5 inches. Then score at 1-1/8th inch again at 1-3/8 inch. See photo:
Next, I glued pad using Close to my Heart Liquid Glass
Adding strips of Ballerina and floral to top of Pad adds the pop of color after gluing the strips I wrapped  Mink Twine. I then place the oval cut-outs provided in the file. You can also use our oval thin cuts. Oops I almost forgot to mention the stamp set I used!!
My favorite item is  3d foam tape.  I like to pop those words and call attention to the stamp.
Here you go it is finished
I hope you enjoyed my latest creation I plan on making more of these and selling at a local craft fair. I am super excited! Be sure to check back soon for more fun creations! If you would like to have fun join our group of consultants take a look here!

This wreath on page 33 of our Holiday Expression caught my eye. I recreated it but added my own twist.

Traditional colors are my favorite, This Beary Christmas collection has a wonderful variety of traditional and whimsical! It’s sure to add warmth and cheer to your Holiday crafts.

I love creating 3d items!

My creation of the Beary Christmas 3d Wreath

Items used:

Featured colors: Cranberry, almond, and new England ivy from the Beary Christmas collection.

I used the Flower Market Cricut cartridge exclusive to Close to my Heart you can find it here: Cricut

For the Banner: Close to my Heart Artbooking Cricut cartridge also exclusive to Close to my heart.

Inks: Cranberry and New England Ivy.

Click on any item above to go to my personal online shop.

Directions:

I wrapped a simple styrofoam wreath with burlap ribbon(retired product) This is available at many stores.

.

Next, I then cut the shapes from the Flower Market cartridge.

Cricut Design Space is so simple and fast to manipulate my flower petals before cutting, I love the visual screen. I save so much paper. It is all about the paper!!

After cutting I carefully pull the shapes off the matt. Then I sponge each leaf and use a variety of stylus or paper shaping tools to emboss the veins and shape the leafs into a 3d look. I also use liquid glass to adhere the flowers together. Here is a photo of my supplies.

You will have a lot of fun manipulating and forming the petals of these really pretty poinsettia flowers. Don’t forget to add the pretty gold pearls.

Last but not least I made the banner using the Close to my Heart Art booking Cricut cartridge. Using design space allows you to space the letters exactly where you would like them.

These poinsettias remind me of living in San Luis Obispo, California where they almost grow wild. Many people have plants growing up the side of the house. Unfortunately, I can not seem to make these flowers grow so Paper flowers I have plenty.

Here is a photo of what this wreath looks like on my front door against the wood grain. The Beary Christmas collection and Beary Christmas coordinating Cardstock are so economical. I still have plenty of papers left for cards and even a  mini scrapbook stay tuned for more. Beary Christmas collection. I hope you try this fun project!

Thanks for visiting! Please let me know if you try this project I would love to see your photos.
